The time of the sugarcane harvest, also known as Zafra, was driven by the Puerto Rico’s working class from the months of January thru May. During the beginning of the past century, the harvest of sugarcane was one of the most important staples of the Puerto Rican economy. People traveled from all over the Island to work at the mills and then celebrated during the festivity of the harvest. Come celebrate our Zafra !
